The Oaks opened in July 2006 and provides specialist support for eight people with learning and physical disabilities between the ages of 18 and 65 years.
The Oaks is an attractive house situated in a residential area of Bedhampton, it has been adapted to accommodate people who use wheelchairs and have other mobility needs. There is a lift for people to use to access the first floor. All bedrooms are single occupancy and have ensuite facilities. People living at The Oaks are encouraged to personalise their rooms to their taste. There are shops and services a short walk away and good public transport links.
People are supported by skilled and highly trained staff who are dedicated to providing person centered, outcomes based approaches for each person. Staff are trained to support people with their unique and often complex health needs and are able to provide high quality care. A focus is involving each person in their care and support and promoting a meaningful presence in the local community.
